Senior Property Accountant – Commercial & Multifamily Real Estate
Location: Washington, DC (near Dupont Circle) | Hybrid (1 day remote after training)
A well-established and growing real estate services firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their collaborative finance team. This company has over 30 years of experience managing more than 4 million square feet across the office, retail, condo, and multifamily sectors. Known for its deep local roots, stability, and client-focused approach, the firm continues to expand its residential portfolio and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the lead accountant for a 1,000+ unit portfolio of multifamily, mixed-use, and condo properties in the DC Metro area
Manage all financial reporting, general ledger entries, and monthly close activities using Yardi
Respond to resident and tenant inquiries related to billing and account balances
Collaborate with the property management and asset management teams on tax preparation and year-end reporting
Assist in onboarding and accounting integration for newly acquired properties and HOA-managed assets
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
4+ years of property accounting experience, preferably in a real estate, multifamily, or HOA setting
Proficiency with Yardi or similar property management/accounting software
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Compensation:
$95,000-$100,000 per year
