Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, establishing, and integrating comprehensive project plans and schedules throughout the project’s lifecycle. You will be responsible for initiating, integrating, monitoring and preparing status for internal and/or external project schedules into a comprehensive program or integrated project master schedule. This includes providing project controls advisements and progress analysis for senior management decision making, as well as tracking current and future resources and production progress based on the Integrated Master Schedule. Scope of planning and scheduling responsibilities include development/establishment of project schedules, show/ride concept development, show, ride, facility, area development designs, building construction, show/ride production, installation, and commissioning stages.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares project life cycle and project master schedules and statuses the project schedules utilizing Primavera software. Develops comprehensive plans and schedules from multiple discipline drawings and specifications. Prepares project plans and works with scoping/strategy documents to develop integrated project master schedules. Prepares schedule contract milestones for bid packages.
  • Provides project team with Schedule guidance during all phases of the project. Coordinates with estimating/finance teams to develop appropriate level of detail scope definition and durations for schedule activities to support project monitoring and project controls reporting needs. Coordinates with contractors, vendors, and responsible project team members to develop and integrate activity durations and logic sequences required to perform project work. Integrates project schedule input from all internal and external project organizations.
  • Leads planning and coordination meetings as required to support planning and monitoring functions. Collects/reports progress, evaluates progress variances, develops work-around plans, and coordinates resolution of variances. Conducts resource loading/resource analysis and develops and statuses earned value tracking tools and progress curves as required. Produces reports as required to support project team and leadership reporting. Frequently communicates, reports, and interacts with project and core team members including vendors and outside consultants on complex topics.
  • Contributes to highly effective project control tools and reports and provides insightful analysis that contributes to schedule certainty.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Work with Creative Studio to develop Conceptual schedules for proposed projects. Develop workflow sequences based on historical information when detailed design information is not available.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years engineering/construction planning and scheduling experience required.
  • 5+ years theme park planning/coordination experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of primavera scheduling experience required.
  • Proven prior project controls leadership, supervisory experience preferred.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong understanding of design and construction progress measurement.
  • Working knowledge of architectural/engineering and show and ride design and production.
  • Well-organized self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of practical project controls applications and earned value measurement.
  • Ability to coordinate staff, consultants, and suppliers including setting goals, prioritization of tasks, coordinating work, and managing time.
  • Effective meeting leadership, facilitation, and alignment skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, technical writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and guide a team successfully.
  • Negotiation skills for schedule changes with vendors and contractors.
  • Basic conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of planning techniques.
Additional Requirements
  • This position requires full-time on-site work at an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

This position offers company-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and other perks. Salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 (bonus eligible).
