Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Project Manager to lead design and construction efforts for multiple healthcare projects. You will manage budgets, coordinate consultants, vendors and contractors, and drive projects from conception to completion while ensuring scope, schedule, and cost compliance.

The role requires extensive healthcare PM experience, knowledge of AHCA/JCAHO/DNV codes, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction management or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ healthcare project management experience preferred.
  • 7+ years healthcare design/construction PM experience required.
  • Experience with AHCA, JCAHO/DNV, and codes required.
  • Experience managing diverse teams on complex information solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and tracks project budgets using the Project Budget Tracking Form.
  • Ddeliver projects on time and within scope according to approved project plan.
  • Leads design and construction with consultants, vendors and contractors.
  • Manages negotiation and bid processes for fair competition.
  • Ensures change control and oversees site visits and progress.

Job Description

Develops and updates project budgets using the “Project Budget Tracking Form.” Delivers projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner according to the approved project scope. Effectively manages and collaborates on multiple projects simultaneously, including several large projects. Leads the design and construction process, managing consultants, vendors, and contractors on multiple projects. Leads project evaluation meetings and administrative reviews from conception to completion. Monitors the negotiation and bidding process to ensure fair and competitive practices. Develops, manages, and delivers a project change control process to ensure the project team operates within the scope and change approval process. Coordinates the work of the Project Manager and Project Coordinator to assure the project is progressing appropriately, frequently visits job site throughout construction. Monitors contractor activities for compliance with project budget and specification requirements. Effectively prepares and presents technical and/or educational documentation of assigned projects to enhance the knowledge of our customers and team members affected. Actively participates in internal and/or external training programs, staying current and compliant on application or technical skills applicable to assigned duties. Follows established procedures of the Office of Design and Construction. Utilizes pre-construction understanding of operational considerations to assess project risks and formulate mitigation plans. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the Office of Design and Construction. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent project management skills to manage multiple mid-sized to large, complex healthcare projects [Required]
  • Knowledge of healthcare design and construction techniques [Required]
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contracts [Required]
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills [Required]
  • Self-motivated requiring minimal management [Required]
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with and manage multi-faceted teams [Required]
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook [Required]
  • Comfortable in making presentations to management and customers [Required]
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project or similar project management program [Preferred]
  • Proficient in e-Builder software program [Preferred]
Education
  • Bachelor's [Required]
  • Master's [Preferred]
Field of Study
  • In Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Construction management or related field
Work Experience
  • 10+ healthcare project management experience [Preferred]
  • 10+ progressively responsible design and construction project management experience with seven years focused on healthcare. [Required]
  • Experience with AHCA regulations, JCAHO/DNV standards, and other applicable codes of the construction industry [Required]
  • Extensive experience in managing diverse teams to deliver complex information solutions [Required]
Licenses and Certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) [Preferred]
  • Professional EngineerLicense (PE) [Preferred]
  • General Contractor License (GENCON) [Preferred]
