Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, seeks an experienced leader to manage the strategic initiatives program within Planning, Design and Construction, overseeing AdventHealth Way standards, guidelines, playbooks, and technologies.

This role requires deep knowledge of healthcare design and construction, strong project management and financial analysis skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex programs across markets.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in project or facilities management with an emphasis in healthcare.
  • 8+ years leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business or related healthcare field.
  • Regulatory knowledge: DOH, JCAHO/DNV.
  • Strong PM, financial analysis and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to read construction documents, Revit, CAD drawings and related documents.
  • Excellent oral, written and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and BlueBeam.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify roles, tasks, deliverables, dependencies, and schedules.
  • Ensure resolution and execution of system governance and standards.
  • Develop and implement best practices for design and construction project delivery workflows and project controls.
  • Evaluate current systems and processes to establish and maintain high standards for a comprehensive Center of Excellence program.
  • Utilize regional subject matter experts to inform standardization of processes and methodologies.
  • Reduce variation and increase efficiency in project delivery.
  • Support the execution of key initiatives for the Center of Excellence.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams throughout construction delivery.

Job Description:

Responsible for managing the strategic initiatives program established by the Planning, Design and Construction in conjunction with all markets and vendor partnerships. This individual is an integral member of the Planning, Design and Construction overseeing development and integration of the AdventHealth Way standards, guidelines, playbooks, and technologies. This individual is expected to have a deep understanding of healthcare design and construction and expertise in assigned relevant subject matter area on owner furnished equipment, design standards, construction program, and project controls and analytics.

  • Engages and manages cross-functional teams to identify roles, tasks, deliverables, dependencies, and schedules.
  • Ensures resolution and execution of system governance and standards.
  • Develops and implements industry best practices for design and construction project delivery workflows and project controls.
  • Evaluates current systems and processes to establish and maintain high standards for a comprehensive Center of Excellence program.
  • Utilize regional subject matter experts to inform rationalization and standardization of the processes, and methodologies that reduce variation, and increasing efficiency.
  • Reduces variation and increases efficiency in project delivery.
  • Supports the execution of key initiatives for the Center of Excellence.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, resolving any issues or challenges that arise during the construction delivery process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of local Department of Health Administration regulations, JCAHO / DNV standards, and other applicable codes of the construction industry. [Required]
  • Expert knowledge of the design and construction industry and standard practices, and how they relate to healthcare facilities. [Required]
  • Expert understanding of architectural practices including master planning, feasibility studies, medical planning, building design and construction documents. [Required]
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare facilities space and functional programs in both acute and non acute settings. [Required]
  • Excellent project management, financial analysis, and strategic planning skills required [Required]
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, Revit, CAD drawings and related documents [Required]
  • Excellent oral, written and organizational skills [Required]
  • Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and BlueBeam. [Required]
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations [Required]
  • Ability to build and maintain effective and productive teams [Required]
  • Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals. [Required]
  • Experience launching new programs, teams and complex strategies across business units. [Preferred]
  • Able to optimize existing resources to achieve economies of scales. [Preferred]
  • Business and strategic plan development. [Preferred]

Education:

  • Bachelor's [Required]
  • Master's [Preferred]

Field of Study:

  • in Architecture, Engineering, Business, or related healthcare professional field

Work Experience:

  • 8+ years experience in project or facilities management with an emphasis in healthcare. [Required]
  • 8+ years leadership experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) [Preferred]
  • Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) [Preferred]
