Job description

Commercial Construction | Houston, TX

We are partnered with a highly respected, family-owned general contractor with a long-standing reputation throughout the Houston market. Known for delivering complex public, aviation, municipal, financial institution, and large-scale commercial projects, the company has built strong client relationships and maintains a robust backlog of work across the region. This is an opportunity for an experienced construction leader to play a key role in project delivery while helping drive operational excellence within a growing organization. The leadership team values autonomy, collaboration, and accountability, and is seeking someone who can independently lead major projects while serving as a trusted resource to both field and office teams.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking either a seasoned Senior Project Manager, or Project Executive capable of independently leading a high-profile financial institution project and future commercial developments throughout the Houston market. For candidates operating at the Senior PM or PX level, there is an opportunity to provide oversight and mentorship to multiple Project Managers while partnering closely with operations leadership to help streamline project execution and reduce day-to-day oversight requirements. The ideal candidate will bring a strong commercial construction background, proven leadership experience, and the ability to successfully manage projects from preconstruction through closeout.

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasting, contracts, and overall financial performance.
  • Independently oversee complex commercial and public-sector projects ranging from $10M-$100M+.
  • Partner closely with Superintendents and field leadership to ensure projects remain on schedule, on budget, and aligned with client expectations.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to project management staff when operating at the Senior PM or PX level.
  • Support operational initiatives and assist in driving consistency across project teams.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, buyout activities, contract administration, and change order negotiations.
  • Lead OAC meetings and maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive successful outcomes.
  • Oversee project closeout, commissioning, owner training, and final documentation.

  • Experience mentoring Project Managers or Assistant Project Managers is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
