Job summary

NV5 LNG Engineering in Portsmouth, NH seeks a Sr. Project Manager to lead LNG projects, manage scope, schedule and budget, and coordinate design, procurement and commissioning with cross‑functional teams.

You will oversee liquefaction, storage, truck transfer and vaporization systems, report to senior management, and travel 10–15% to project sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience within Oil & Gas, LNG, or heavy industrial, 5+ years managing these projects from inception to completion.
• Experience in design of cryogenic, natural gas, petrochemical, oil, or power systems.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.

We are seeking a Sr. Project Manager to join a dynamic LNG engineering team that values innovation and continuous learning.

As our Sr. Project Manager, you will work on diverse and challenging projects that will expand your expertise and have you contribute to impactful projects with a leader in the natural gas and LNG industry.

This role is based in our Portsmouth, NH office and includes 10-15% travel to project sites located nationwide.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing

• Client relationship development and maintenance, project execution, schedule and budget management, project engineering oversight, project start‑up, and project closeout.
• Responsible for developing, overseeing design, and managing all aspects of LNG projects including liquefaction, storage, truck transfer, and vaporization of LNG.
• Reporting to senior management and project teams on project status, budget, and schedule.
• Reporting to and holding meetings with Clients to review project updates.
• Review design, procurement, and operations specifications for equipment and systems.
• Field commissioning and troubleshooting support of LNG plant startup and operations.
• Coordination of internal and external resources throughout project, including team leaders, construction managers, and commissioning team.
• Reviewing calculations, equipment specifications, requisitions and drawings.
• Maintain technical proficiency and code expertise in the LNG field (49CFR193, NFPA 59A, ASME B31.3, BPVC Section VIII).
• Develop cost estimates and proposals in response to client requests.
• Development of drawings for fabrication and construction of plant piping and equipment systems in collaboration with the engineering and design team. This may include interdisciplinary work with civil, electrical, process, and controls project groups to optimize design.

Qualifications

We are seeking the following expeirence & qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience within Oil & Gas, LNG, or heavy industrial, 5+ years managing these types of projects from inception to completion.
• Experience in design of cryogenic, natural gas, petrochemical, oil, or power systems.
• Previous work specifying pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers, heaters, coolers, boilers, or pressure vessels.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
