Job summary

Weir is seeking an Sr. Project Manager to lead complex engineering and new product development initiatives in the Salt Lake City area. The role is onsite with opportunities to collaborate across global teams and PMO governance.

You will manage 2-6 concurrent projects, drive milestones, and ensure scope, schedule, and budget adherence while maintaining transparent risk reporting. Travel may be required, and a strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience, including 3+ years in new product development.

What you'll do
  • Project Planning & Delivery: Lead the planning and execution of complex engineering and new product development projects, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk objectives are met. You will maintain clear project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers to promote transparency and shared understanding. Daily, you will drive project milestones, manage multiple projects (2-6 at a time), and ensure successful delivery. Success means projects are delivered on time and within scope, with stakeholders feeling supported and aligned. Travel may be required occasionally to collaborate with global teams.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Engagement: Act as a key liaison between engineering, product, operations, supply chain, and other technical teams. You will lead by influence, fostering alignment and accountability without direct reports. Daily responsibilities include running meetings, driving actions, escalating issues, and maintaining clear, empathetic communication with diverse stakeholders.
  • Reporting, Governance & PMO Alignment: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, schedules, budgets, and risk assessments. Provide structured reporting to leadership and PMO governance forums, enabling informed decision-making and proactive issue resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement & Process Ownership: Identify opportunities to enhance project delivery processes and workflows. Champion disciplined, repeatable project management practices across the portfolio and contribute to PMO initiatives that improve consistency and efficiency.

What you'll bring
Must-haves:
  • 5+ years of project management experience, including at least 3 years in new product development
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineering concepts, assess risks, and collaborate effectively with technical teams
  • High emotional intelligence and influential leadership skills to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Proven ability to set expectations, hold teams accountable, and communicate clearly and respectfully with diverse stakeholders
Nice-to-haves:
  • Experience in manufacturing or working with physical products
  • Familiarity with project management software tools
  • Agile mindset and adaptability to work across global time zones (Madison Wisconsin, Europe, China)
  • Experience driving process improvements within a PMO environment
