You will create and modify detailed part drawings and 3-D models, ensuring manufacturability, accuracy of BOMs, and effective collaboration with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and other teams. The role emphasizes customization of pump designs to customer needs, adherence to industry and internal standards, and thorough design verification through inspection and engineering analyses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD and 3D solid modeling tools (NX preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude in manufacturing environments and BOM management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and modify detailed part drawings and 3-D models to meet customer specs and manufacturing needs.
  • Review designs and BOMs for accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, quality and other departments to ensure engineering solutions meet requirements.
  • Customize standard pump designs to fulfill customer requirements, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Inspect products at manufacturing stages and perform engineering analysis as needed.
  • Input and revise product structure data to maintain BOMs; use Teamcenter PLM.
  • Demonstrate safety commitment and support a world‑class safety culture.
  • Minimal travel; primary work location at the St. Louis facility.

What you’ll do


  • Design & Engineering: Create and modify detailed part drawings and 3-D models using CAD systems to meet customer specifications and manufacturing ease.

  • Review designs and Bills of Material (BOMs) for accuracy and manufacturability.

  • Collaboration & Support: Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and other departments to ensure engineering solutions meet operational and customer needs. Respond to inquiries and provide technical support across teams.

  • Product Customization: Customize standard pump designs and engineering data to fulfill specific customer requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal guidelines.

  • Quality & Inspection: Examine products at various manufacturing stages, especially first articles, to maintain quality and reliability. Investigate design alternatives and perform engineering analysis as needed.

  • Data Management: Input and revise product structure design data to formulate and maintain accurate BOMs. Utilize Teamcenter PLM software and other tools to manage engineering documentation.

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

  • Travel Requirements: Minimal to no travel expected; primary work location is the St. Louis manufacturing facility.


What you’ll bring


  • Must-haves: Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in pump or rotating equipment design.

  • Proficiency in CAD and 3D solid modeling tools (Unigraphics NX preferred).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in manufacturing environments and BOM management.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hands‑on manufacturing setting, with a strong focus on safety and PPE compliance.


Nice-to-haves


  • Experience with API pump standards and MSS valve standards.

  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

  • Familiarity with Teamcenter PLM software.

  • Prior exposure to industrial pump manufacturing or related mechanical equipment industries.
