Job Title: Senior Project Manager
I have an urgent need for a Senior Project Manager for a 12+ month contract. The candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Must Have:
- At least 2 years of Project Management Experience with the State of California, including PAL & PMP certification from PMI.
- Hands-on experience in leading the development of State of California (government) IT project approval documentation, such as feasibility study reports (FSRs) and project approval lifecycle (PAL) documents, as specified in the Statewide Information Management Manual (SIMM 19B) and California Project Management Framework (CA-PMF, SIMM 17).
- Mandatory PMP certification from PMI.
Additionally, the candidate should possess:
- 7 years of broad, extensive experience applying project management principles, methods, techniques, and tools.
- 7 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager for large-scale IT projects, utilizing disciplines such as risk and issue management, change control, communication, quality assurance, contract management, financial analysis, project scheduling, transition planning, and implementation.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams including SMEs, architects, developers, and testers.
- At least 5 years of facilitating, collaborating, and negotiating with stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
- 3 years of experience following system development lifecycles (SDLCs) to evaluate and implement solutions.
- 3 years of experience in writing project management documentation such as project management plans, communication plans, schedules, templates, procedures, and guidelines.
This role requires a candidate with proven leadership in managing complex IT projects within government settings, adhering to state-specific frameworks and standards.
