About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team in Portland, Oregon. This is a key leadership role for an accomplished construction professional with an extensive background managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands‑on leader who can successfully manage complex projects, build strong client relationships, and lead project teams while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, and overall project execution.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project managers, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Oversee procurement, subcontractor negotiations, buyout, change orders, and contract administration.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including forecasting, cost control, and profitability.
  • Identify and proactively resolve project risks, issues, and conflicts.
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear, consistent communication to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Support business development efforts, including client relationships, proposals, and project pursuits.
  • Mentor and develop project team members.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive commercial construction experience, with significant experience in a Senior Project Manager or equivalent role.
  • Proven track record managing complex commercial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, scheduling, estimating, and project financial management.
  • Experience managing projects from preconstruction through final completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and effectively lead project teams.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with construction project management and scheduling software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • OSHA/Safety training and relevant construction certifications are a plus.

Compensation

$140,000–$185,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications.

Additional compensation and benefits may include performance incentives, comprehensive health benefits, retirement contributions, paid time off, and other company-sponsored benefits.
