Job Title: Sr. Project Manager
Job Location: Pearl River, New York
Pay Range: $60- $70/ hour
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
- Maintain & monitor safe working conditions; identifies, corrects, and reports unsafe work areas, enforces safety compliance.
- Develops and reviews project schedules, cost estimation, bill of materials, budgets, scopes of work, standards and quotes from suppliers
- Lead, plan, direct, and coordinate all project activities to ensure goals and objectives are achieved within established timeframes and budget constraints across disciplines; client, vendors / contractors, plant management and operations peers, internal legal, procurement departments.
- Manage all field resources and personnel, ensuring professional project execution from construction through project close-out.
- Manages and leads key aspects of project management support, including coordination of shop drawings and submittals, development and processing of change orders, response to Requests for Information (RFIs), tracking of project progress and schedules, preparation and tracking of invoices, as well as financial planning, cost forecasting, and schedule management. Manage interface with local plant management, operations and maintenance staffing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 5-years related work experience in construction project management, energy plant management or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating subcontractors, coordination with plant management, operations & management staff.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction project management methodologies, with experience managing projects in alignment with construction contracts and a strong understanding of engineering and construction documents and processes
- Ability to review and interpret schematic, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural drawings.
- Strong understanding of plant infrastructure; boilers, chillers, gas turbines and related auxiliaries including control systems.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and experience resolving challenging situations requiring tact and collaboration to maintain cost-effective operations
- Demonstrated project budgeting, cost tracking, and cost estimating experience
- Experience at preparing estimates and value engineering
- Ability to climb and walk long distances, lift 50 lbs.
- Work on-site at Pearl River operation.
- Proven track record in attracting, managing & developing technical and administrative resources / personnel / contractors
- Valid driver's license
- Demonstrated strong skills with all Microsoft Office Suite applications. Proficiency in project scheduling and tracking using software such as Primavera and other common construction project management applications, work order systems ie: Maximo
- Effective written and oral communication/presentation skills, report generation & technical writing skills across disciplines; third-party contractors / vendors, clients, plant management / operations & maintenance staff, corporate peers in procurement, legal, HR.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7-years of experience managing construction projects and / or energy asset operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical)
- Working experience in project management of multi-capital projects in support of Facility and assets improvement projects in collaboration with O&M team
- Experience working on Design-Build contract projects
- Registered Professional Engineer preferred
- PMP certification or ability to achieve within 1-year.
