The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is looking for a motivated individual to be a Senior Project Engineer leading multidisciplinary teams of engineers (including systems, mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines) developing complex engineering solutions. The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers, including armed services and airlines both domestic and international. As a key member of the Avionics Test Engineering leadership team, the Senior Project Engineer ensures the successful execution of test solution projects from inception, through deployment to customers, as well as long‑term support.

What You Will Do:

• Lead project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision making and continuous improvement purposes
• Manage project scope (requirements and change requests) ensuring it meets agreed to commitments
• Generate and maintain project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path
• Utilize Earned Value (EV) methods for managing project budget (and schedule)
• Ensure project meets quality expectations
• Identify risks and opportunities and resolve them through proactive ownership
• Prepare well‑crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teams
• Develop Engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects and gaining organizational buy‑in

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience leading projects
• Sound technical knowledge in at least one of the following engineering disciplines: systems, mechanical, electrical, or software
• Organizational and time management skills to effectively execute multiple active projects
• Proficiency with developing and maintaining schedules using Microsoft Project
• Ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships
