Senior Project Engineer – Avionics Test Engineering

The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers in developing complex engineering solutions for the Avionics strategic business unit and external customers.

What You Will Do
  • Lead project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Manage project scope (requirements and change requests) ensuring it meets agreed‑to commitments.
  • Generate and maintain project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path.
  • Utilize Earned Value methods for managing project budget and schedule.
  • Ensure project meets quality expectations.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and resolve them through proactive ownership.
  • Prepare well‑crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teams.
  • Develop engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects and gain organizational buy‑in.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • University degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience leading projects.
  • Sound technical knowledge in at least one of the following engineering disciplines: systems, mechanical, electrical, or software.
  • Organizational and time management skills to effectively execute multiple active projects.
  • Proficiency with developing and maintaining schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships.
  • Outstanding oral, written, and formal presentation communication skills.
  • Sharp critical thinking approaches.
