In performing these functions, the Sr. Project Engineer will exercise extensive latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Works in conjunction with various other disciplines in the development of full products or adaptations requiring specialized experience. Develops and manages technical delivery timelines, cost estimates, and participates in the translation of consumer insights to product specifications for large scale product development programs with significant innovation. Sr. Project Engineers may have direct supervisory roles or indirect reporting over other members of the engineering team.ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)Act as technical lead for full Product Design and Development programs coordinating and directing activities of both internal and external resources.Interpret feedback from product marketing, industrial design, end user insights, competitive analysis, and customer care data to develop design specifications that will be used to define the detailed design and intent of the product.Deliver layouts, assemblies, and full product designs that meet desired specifications and aesthetic direction for new products, significant innovation, channel initiatives, and other corporate objectives individually and through internal and external design resources.Use various tools to develop breadboard models and proof of concept prototypes for review / discussion with other departments in conjunction with industrial design and advanced development teams.Provide design and development support to the other engineers, analysts, designers and / or external resources. Identify opportunities for the creation of intellectual property and

in conjunction with internal and external tooling, equipment, and manufacturing technology engineers to develop and execute an achievable manufacturing build plan.Develop testing plans to ensure product design meets all government and internal safety and quality standards.Understand and utilize the product development process to ensure engineering deliverables are delivered on time.Prepare and present necessary updates on projects to multiple levels of the organization up to and including executive leadership.Participate in industry regulations and standards compliance teams.Sr. Project Engineers will take direction primarily from Managers or Directors. Understand and follow Quality Management System. QualificationsExperience & EducationBSME or equivalent; MSME preferred, or equivalent combination of relevant education and / or work experience will be considered. 5 to 8 years of new and sustaining product development design and independent project management, with significant "hands on" expertise.Experience with metal and plastic materials, injection molding, structural analysis, extrusion, fabrication and joining for high volume production.Expertise in contemporary design and modeling / analysis tools; SolidWorks preferred.Key CompetenciesAbility to demonstrate leadership, organization, and execution skills with a degree of independent judgment in a fast-paced environment.Ability to focus on personal accountability and motivate team accountability, demonstrating attributes of team playing.Ability to seek out solutions across functional departments and remote sites.Raises issues and opportunities to improve project status and procedures proactively to allow risk mitigation and prompt problem resolution.Ability to comply with procedural requirements and understand and apply specifications, where needed, with an eye for simultaneous process improvement.Design knowledge in multiple manufacturing processes including sheet metal, extrusions, finishing operations, joining, welding, machining, fixtures, and injection molded plastic.Advanced knowledge of 3D / 2D CAD, PowerPoint, and Excel.Travel RequirementsTravel to domestic and international engineering centers, manufacturing sites, and suppliers.Salary Range : $82,000 - $150,000Benefits : 401(k) company matchMedical insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife and disability insurancePaid time offEEO Statement#LI-Hybrid#LI-KA1
