Job Description

Join Stepan's Project Management Team as a Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer. Manage small to medium-sized projects, making a direct impact at a leading chemical manufacturing company.

• Manage small to medium projects in a PSM chemical facility, supporting larger projects as needed.
• Develop project scope with input from stakeholders across departments.
• Support project evaluation, analyzing alternatives to meet project goals.
• Review technical submittals from vendors and engineers, ensuring safety, operability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor and control project scope, schedule, budget, and risks.
• Collaborate with Construction Engineering for project construction and address technical issues.
• Develop and manage project schedules and budgets, including cost estimates and funding requests.
• Track financials, update budgets, and forecast cash flow.
• Manage project risks and develop risk management plans for larger projects.
• Estimate internal resource efforts and oversee timely completion of deliverables.
• Contribute to construction quality assurance and oversee commissioning.
• Partner with Procurement for materials and labor, develop scopes for third-party services, and support RFQ processes.
• Engage with vendors, contractors, engineers, and government agencies.
• Prepare project reports and financial forecasts.

Qualifications

• 0-10+ years of experience, with owner project engineering or engineering firm background preferred.
• Experience with process equipment, electrical infrastructure, and controls systems.
• Leadership skills to manage teams, prioritize, and solve problems proactively.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams; MS Project, SharePoint, and SAP preferred.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and CAD drawings.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, perform field walk-downs, climb stairs/ladders, and use fall protection.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.

Additional Information

Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Salary range: $81,000 - $124,000, based on experience and qualifications.
