Qualifications

Your Opportunity

Join a Top 10 global integrated design firm in our Texas Buildings practice that provides Architecture, Buildings Engineering, and Interior Design services with a long history and deep commitment to the education sector. Our Austin office is seeking a Sr Project Architect to develop elevations, sections, 3D renderings, and architectural details. You will be involved in designing sustainable prototypes with a green architecture sensibility.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and directing project work throughout its lifecycle.
• Develop designs through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
• Utilize BIM technologies for 3D modeling of buildings and components.
• Participate in design critiques and pin-ups.
• Interpret and apply building codes and regulations.
• Prepare and revise documentation across architectural phases, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Participate in bidding, negotiations, and prepare addenda.
• Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, and prepare site observation reports.
• Lead project coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Engage in client meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
• Assist in preparing project specifications and coordinate with construction documents.
• Participate in constructability reviews and conduct quality assurance and control.
• Ensure work conforms to project budgets, schedules, and plans.

Qualifications

• Passionate about designing K-12 education environments.
• Knowledge of accessibility codes and building regulations.
• Understanding of all phases of architectural documentation and relationship between drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of building systems, materials, and industry standards.
• Ability to conduct space and block planning with building programs.
• Proficiency in developing floor plans, wall sections, and details.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Creative and critical thinking skills.
• Effective sketching and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Newforma, Sefaira, and Bluebeam.

Education and Experience

• Master’s degree in Architecture or bachelor’s degree supporting licensure.
• Registered Architect in Texas.
• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Experience in education projects is a plus.
• LEED AP and WELL AP certifications required.
