Job summary

Optimize Search Group in Dallas, TX is seeking a Sr. Project Accountant for an immediate need. This in-office role offers a competitive salary and a strong work-life balance within a reputable real estate-focused firm.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in construction or project accounting, solid full-cycle accounting, and knowledge of G/L, month-end close and journal entries. CPA/CMA preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Construction / Project Accounting experience is a MUST.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting roles.
• CPA or CMA is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Month end close, journal entries, bank req's and financial statements.
• Manage project accounting from contract award through closeout, including budgeting, job cost tracking, WIP reporting, billing, revenue recognition, and profitability analysis.
• Prepare and process customer billings, subcontractor/vendor payments, change orders, lien waivers, and monthly project cost reconciliations while ensuring contract compliance.
• Partner with Project Managers and Operations to monitor project financial performance, forecast costs, resolve budget variances, and deliver accurate month-end financial reporting.
• Strong general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR).
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Analyze account activity and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
