Job Description

Performs advanced electrical designs involving the use of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), servos, graphics panels, and other industrial controls related to material handling equipment. Applies advanced skills to resolve complex controls engineering problems not covered by existing procedures.

1. Identifies needed resources across engineering teams and with external suppliers and assigns tasks across the project team.
2. Monitors and manages project/team performance to ensure KPIs are met.
3. Aligns with line managers regarding performance, skill set, and availability of project engineering resources.
4. Tracks engineering progress and ensures the project is on schedule; reports progress to ME/CE Leads and SAE as needed.
5. Creates project status reports, financial forecasts, and schedule updates.
6. Supports the project manager in risk management and mitigation by documenting, escalating, and managing project risks, and preparing PSRs/PVRs.
7. Leads technical reviews and conducts post-mortems with project managers to facilitate continuous improvement.
8. Advises top management and business partners on advanced technical matters.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field, and 3 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Controls Engineer, or a related occupation. Additionally, requires 2 years of experience with testing and commissioning electrical and software aspects of conveyor and sortation systems, using NEC, NFPA, and UL electrical codes; AutoCAD Electrical for schematic drawings; Allen Bradley PLC/HMI Software (RSLogix 5000, Factory Talk); Ethernet TCP/IP; Modbus; motor controls; tuning VFDs; performing FLA calculations; technical writing; testing E-Stop and safety relay circuits; troubleshooting electrical control systems; calibrating photo-eyes, scanners, and barcode readers; performing compliance checks; and planning and implementing engineering design projects.

The estimated base pay range is $103,230 - $147,400, with final compensation determined by work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Additional Information
