Performs advanced electrical designs involving the use of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), servos, graphics panels, and other industrial controls related to material handling equipment. Applies advanced skills to resolve complex controls engineering problems not covered by existing procedures.
Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field, and 3 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Controls Engineer, or a related occupation. Additionally, requires 2 years of experience with testing and commissioning electrical and software aspects of conveyor and sortation systems, using NEC, NFPA, and UL electrical codes; AutoCAD Electrical for schematic drawings; Allen Bradley PLC/HMI Software (RSLogix 5000, Factory Talk); Ethernet TCP/IP; Modbus; motor controls; tuning VFDs; performing FLA calculations; technical writing; testing E-Stop and safety relay circuits; troubleshooting electrical control systems; calibrating photo-eyes, scanners, and barcode readers; performing compliance checks; and planning and implementing engineering design projects.
The estimated base pay range is $103,230 - $147,400, with final compensation determined by work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
