Your Mission
We are seeking a Senior AEM Product Owner to own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for the Adobe Experience Manager platform within the Content Supply Chain of a global pharmaceutical company. The Content Supply Chain team is chartered to build and continuously optimize an integrated, end-to-end content creation experience for marketers and agency partners. The platform brings together Adobe Workfront for work and project management, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets for digital asset management, Adobe Express for on-brand, self-service content creation, and supporting services for content metadata tagging, component content management and workflow automation. Together, these capabilities enable faster, compliant and cost-effective production, approval, distribution and reuse of marketing content.
This role sits at the intersection of business and technology: you will bring strong business acumen together with a deep functional understanding of AEM, Adobe Express and Adobe Workfront (preferred), including how these products integrate to move content from intake and brief through creation, MLR review, approval, distribution and reuse.
Working closely with Business stakeholders, Delivery Leads and Adobe Product (vendor) teams, you will drive the AEM platform strategy, build roadmaps with the Business, prioritize the backlog based on value and effort, and ensure the platform delivers measurable outcomes for marketers and agencies, in a regulated pharmaceutical environment where medical, legal and regulatory (MLR) review, brand governance and modular content reuse are central to how work gets done.
This is a remote role. You must be based in the United States or Canada and able to work Eastern Time (ET) hours.
What You’ll Do
Platform Strategy and Roadmap
- Drive the AEM platform strategy for the Content Supply Chain, defining the product vision, objectives and success measures (KPIs/OKRs) aligned to business and marketing goals.
- Build and maintain multi-quarter product roadmaps in partnership with the Business, balancing new capabilities, enhancements, technical debt, and Adobe platform releases and upgrades.
- Stay current on Adobe's product direction (AEM as a Cloud Service, AEM Assets, Adobe Express, Workfront and generative AI capabilities such as Adobe Firefly) and assess where new capabilities can add business value.
- Evaluate configure-vs-customize-vs-buy options, favoring out-of-the-box Adobe capabilities where they meet business needs and reduce long-term cost of ownership.
Business Partnership and Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary partner between Business stakeholders, product delivery teams and Adobe, ensuring a shared understanding of goals, scope, priorities and trade-offs.
- Lead discovery sessions and workshops with marketers, agencies, marketing operations and MLR reviewers to understand pain points, workflows and business processes.
- Clearly communicate the roadmap, priorities, release plans, status, risks and trade-offs to audiences at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Build consensus and manage expectations when priorities compete across brands, markets and functions.
Backlog Management and Prioritization
- Own, groom and maintain the product backlog in Jira (preferred), ensuring it is transparent, ordered and ready for delivery.
- Prioritize features and epics by weighing business value against effort, risk and dependencies.
- Write clear, high-level epics and user stories with business context and acceptance criteria that delivery teams can refine into detailed requirements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (PI and sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and demos) and accept completed work against agreed criteria.
Adobe Ecosystem and Content Supply Chain Integration
- Maintain a strong functional understanding of AEM, including Assets (DAM), metadata schemas and taxonomy, tagging (including Smart Tags), folder structures and permissions (ACLs), workflows, templates and components, Content Fragments, Dynamic Media, renditions and asset distribution (e.g., Brand Portal / Content Hub).
- Understand Adobe Express capabilities such as brand kits, locked and editable templates and the AEM Assets integration, enabling marketers to create on-brand content in a self-service, governed way.
- Understand how Workfront is configured (portfolios, programs, projects, request queues, custom forms, templates, proofing and approvals) and how it integrates with AEM through the Workfront for Experience Manager connector or native integration, including linked folders, metadata mapping and publishing approved assets back to AEM.
- Shape how AEM, Express and Workfront work together end-to-end in a pharmaceutical content supply chain: intake and briefing, planning, creation, MLR review (e.g., Veeva Vault PromoMats), approval, distribution, modular content reuse, and asset expiry or withdrawal.
- Partner with architects on integrations between AEM and upstream or downstream systems such as Veeva Vault PromoMats, marketing automation platforms, CRM, analytics and agency tools.
Vendor and Delivery Partnership
- Work closely with Adobe Product, engineering and Customer Success teams to raise product gaps, submit and champion enhancement requests, participate in early adopter or beta programs, and track escalations.
- Collaborate with Delivery Leads, architects and developers to ensure solutions follow AEM best practices and are scalable, secure, maintainable and aligned with the product roadmap.
- Ensure solutions meet company standards for quality, computer system validation, data privacy, security and content governance.
Product Design, Adoption and Value Realization
- Apply product design practices such as personas, user journey and process mapping, and prototyping to define intuitive, user-centered solutions.
- Define and track metrics such as content cycle time, asset reuse rate, platform adoption, user satisfaction and cost per asset, and use them to guide decisions.
- Partner with change management and training teams on release communications, enablement and adoption of new capabilities.
What You Bring
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis or digital platform roles, including 3+ years as a Product Owner for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or a comparable DAM or content platform.
- Strong functional knowledge of AEM (Assets and related capabilities) and working knowledge of Adobe Express and Adobe Workfront (preferred), including how they integrate.
- Proven experience building and communicating product roadmaps in partnership with Business stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience working in Agile (Scrum or SAFe), writing high-level user stories and epics, and managing backlogs in Jira (preferred); other backlog tools are also considered.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize based on value and effort and to make clear trade-off decisions.
- Experience working with software vendors or product partners, ideally Adobe.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
- Must be based in the United States or Canada and able to work Eastern Time (ET) hours.
Common Skills
- Team player: collaborative, low-ego and accountable; builds trusted relationships across Business, technology and vendor teams.
- Communication: excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate between business language and technical detail.
- Business acumen: understands marketing operations, budgets, ROI and business drivers, and makes product decisions that maximize business outcomes.
- Problem solving: strong analytical thinking to break down complex problems, manage ambiguity and make sound trade-off decisions.
Bonus Skills / Experience
- Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences or another regulated industry, including familiarity with MLR review processes and tools such as Veeva Vault PromoMats.
- Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service and with Content Supply Chain or modular content initiatives.
- Familiarity with generative AI content capabilities such as Adobe Firefly or Adobe GenStudio, and fluency in using AI tools in your own work.
- Adobe certifications (e.g., AEM or Workfront) and/or product ownership certifications (e.g., CSPO, SAFe POPM); equivalent certifications are also considered.
- Experience with Confluence, Miro or similar collaboration tools.
