Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products based on information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operations Teams, Development Engineers, or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications, including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality and cost, while meeting customer requirements, and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer needs. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Responsibilities
  1. Power: Responsible for being the FAE product expert for power connectors, bus bars, and cable assemblies, from market definition through production and release. Must have complete knowledge of the Global Product Line (GPL) portfolio, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Able to advise on product extensions, feature modifications, and alternative interconnector solutions within DDN’s portfolio.
  2. ICC: Responsible for being the FAE product expert for Internal Connector and Cable Assemblies, from market definition through production and release. Must have complete knowledge of the GPL portfolio, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Able to advise on product extensions, feature modifications, and alternative interconnector solutions within DDN’s portfolio.
  3. Develop high-speed cable assembly, power connector, and power cable assembly solutions from market definition through production and release, including customer engagement, concept conception, simulations, design, prototyping, validation, technical support, and managing product changes.
  4. Collaborate with global teams, suppliers, and customers to meet technical, quality, and cost objectives.
  5. Document designs, changes, and testing results thoroughly, ensuring compliance with standards and customer expectations.
Background Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering with electrical components, device design, tooling development, or manufacturing process development.
  • Knowledge in socket and connector design, mechanical design, and development.
  • Familiarity with switch and server equipment.
  • Proficiency in 3D Design Applications (e.g., ProE, Spaceclaim).
  • Understanding of raw materials, industry standards, manufacturing processes, and quality tools.
  • Ability to work across different time zones and cultures, with a proactive and growth-oriented mindset.
