As a Senior Product Designer for AWS Billing at Amazon, you will shape how customers and AI agents collaborate to understand, forecast, and control cloud spend. The role focuses on designing agentic user experiences and human-in-the-loop patterns for actions that can affect financial outcomes across conversational, agent-driven, and console interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Frame ambiguous problems before designing solutions, establishing clarity when requirements, customer needs, or feasibility are not yet defined.
- Define agent behavior on customers’ behalf, including what actions agents can take independently, where approvals are required, and how customers regain control.
- Create trust patterns that make an agent’s confidence, reasoning, and attribution visible, helping customers understand why an action is recommended or executed.
- Design human-in-the-loop flows, including approvals and undo patterns, specifically for actions that move money.
- Deliver cohesive experiences across conversational interfaces, agent-driven journeys, and traditional console experiences.
- Lead design from problem framing through launch, then apply data signals to improve what ships.
- Partner early with data science, legal, and policy teams as co-designers on AI features with financial or compliance complexity.
- Set patterns and standards for the team’s operating model, and mentor other designers.
- Develop narratives and strategy documents to move decisions forward and present them to senior leadership.
Requirements
- 7+ years of design experience.
- An online portfolio or work samples included on your resume, demonstrating experience delivering end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and reusable patterns across desktop and mobile devices.
- Experience using AI tools in your design workflow, including AI-assisted prototyping, code generation, or research synthesis.
- Experience designing complex, data-dense workflows and information architecture.
- Experience designing AI-powered or agentic experiences, including delegation models, trust design, and human-in-the-loop patterns.
- Experience prototyping in code using AI coding tools.
- Ability to translate qualitative and quantitative insights into design decisions with measurable outcomes.
- Experience designing for billing, payments, finance, or FinOps products.
- Experience designing across conversational and traditional console interfaces.
- Experience writing narrative documents that support product decision-making.
