Job summary

Mutual of Enumclaw is seeking a Sr. Product Analyst to support the Product Line of Business & Strategy Director. The role focuses on rate filings, model updates, territory management, and distribution strategies across assigned states and products.

The candidate will be a leader among peers and a core SME for PL products and processes. Location: Hybrid—preference for WA, OR, ID, MT, WY, AZ, UT residents. Core Pacific Time hours required; strong analytical and project management skills are

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of P&C experience in personal lines (strong preference).
  • Knowledge of insurance, actuarial principles, modeling and data manipulation.
  • Experience with predictive/pricing modeling methodology and underwriting principles.
  • Experience interacting with regulatory environments in multiple states is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Independently identify, prioritize, and drive execution of profit/growth opportunities.
  • Build relationships across core stakeholder departments (UW, Sales, Actuarial, IT).
  • Serve as SME on assigned lines products and execution.
  • Effectively leverage data, analytics, and supporting resources.
  • Create presentations associated with day-to-day execution opportunities.

Job description

The Sr. Product Analyst directly supports the Product Line of Business & Strategy Director and is a driven and individually accountable steward of profit and growth across assigned states and territories for all assigned lines and products.

The core focus of this role will be on rate filings, model updates, territory management, and distribution strategies, while also serving as a leader amongst peers and a core SME around our PL product offerings and processes.

Location: Hybrid, with preference given to those residing in WA, OR, ID, MT, WY, AZ, or UT. (Candidates must be able to work during our core Pacific Time Zone business hours.)

  • Independently identify, prioritize, and drive execution of profit/growth opportunities.
  • Build relationships and add value across core stakeholder departments (UW, Sales, Actuarial, IT, etc.).
  • Be the go-to expert on assigned lines products and execution.
  • Effectively leverage data, analytics, and available supporting resources.
  • Create influential presentations associated with day-to-day execution opportunities.
What You'll Bring ‒
  • Strong analytic and project management capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of the P&C insurance products and filing process, Personal Lines specifically is a plus.
  • Strong insurance business enterprise knowledge
  • Knowledge of predictive/pricing modeling methodology, and actuarial principles.
  • Knowledge of Underwriting principles, methodology, and general theory.
  • Expert use of PowerPoint & Excel.
  • Knowledge of SQL, SAS, VBA, and other programming/data management strong plus.
  • Translate analysis into coherent presentations & communication.
Would Also Be Nice to Have –
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Actuarial, Mathematics, or related fields of study.
  • Experience driving and supporting state rate filings execution at all stages.
  • Experience conductive competitive research as it relates to filing.
Education & Experience
  • Associate’s degree in Economics, Finance, Actuarial, Mathematics, or related fields of study.
  • 3+ years of P&C experience in personal lines (strong preference), actuarial, or sales/underwriting, but experience in portfolio-managed products would also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance, actuarial principles, modeling, computer science & data manipulation.
  • Experience with modeling and predictive analytics.
  • All the following would be considered preferred and viewed favorably:
  • Graduate degree and/or related professional designations (Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance).
  • Experience with managing products and interacting with regulatory environments in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, and Arizona.
  • Experience working with an independent agency channel distribution.

Hiring Range*: $90,560 - $103,357

Salary Range: $90,560 - $121,156

*The Hiring Range represents Mutual of Enumclaw’s current hiring pay scale for this role. Mutual of Enumclaw reserves the right to modify or update this range any time.
