Our Abbott Park, Illinois location currently has an opportunity for a Sr. Procurement Specialist.
The Senior Specialist applies experience and procurement knowledge to execute procurement best practices and supply management strategies across Global Procurement Services. Work with customers, internal and external, and the Divisions to solve issues and drive high levels of customer service. This role will work across multiple verticals. The position will be responsible for driving business excellence through strategy, people, and technologies with the various categories and divisions.

Responsibilities
- Manage Logistics Solutions categories with approx. annual spend, including Freight Audit & Payment Services, Pallets, Customs Brokerage, and Benchmarking Services. Serve as the first responder, pivoting between strategy, operations, and transactional procurement.
- Support global category strategy management, ideation tracking, warehouse RFP toolkit, Supplier Scorecards, Sustainability, Supplier Diversity engagement & reporting.
- Deliver ~$2M annual savings towards PBI targets.
- Execute against category strategies under the guidance of strategic category leaders.
- Develop and drive contract processes within a Contract Technology Platform.
- Develop and drive catalog strategies within a Catalog Technology Platform.
- Manage SOWs/RFIs/ordering documents and assist with supplier selection.
- Execute ad-hoc/one-off buys.
- Educate on existing solutions and enable performance and tech tools development.
- Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools globally.
- Communicate and promote change as a change champion within the Business Excellence organization and Source to Pay Technology platform.
- Lead resolution on issues within Source to Pay technology improvements.
- Enable supplier integration and KPI tracking.
- Drive savings outcomes.
- Collaborate with functions, divisions, and global procurement teams.
- Create and implement RFPs.
- Drive Key Performance Indicators and Value Metrics.
- Perform routine professional activities and manage some projects.
- Communicate with departments to clarify requests and obtain supporting documentation.
- Implement global purchasing strategies for categories.
- Support relationships with diverse suppliers globally.
- Meet regularly with divisional customers and support functions for satisfaction and continuous improvement.
- Exhibit cultural awareness with foreign business entities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, clients, and customers.
- Lead business change within global procurement.
- Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Execute goals set by the Business Excellence Organization.
- Seek innovative ways to improve procurement processes, cycle times, costs, and customer service levels.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum of 2+ years in procurement, supply chain management, or logistics.
- Strong understanding of "One Procurement" strategies.
- Understanding of Source to Pay processes.
