Sr. Procurement Specialist

Responsible for executing purchasing and supply management strategies created by Category Managers. Work closely with customers, divisions, and Category Managers to drive the "Client Procurement" model. Provide high levels of customer service while maintaining strict business ethics. The Sr. Specialist has delegated authority to commit company funds. The role involves defining and resolving known or anticipated problems in procurement, contributing to cost savings, building supplier partnerships, and supporting customer needs. Proactively seek innovative ways to improve procurement processes, cycle times, and service levels. Recognized as an SME across categories and as an expert within the area. Acts as a lead, coordinating work without supervisory authority.

Responsibilities:

• Support PO conversion, including non-transactional and decisive negotiations.
• Manage PO approvals up to $1,000,000.
• Educate on existing solutions and enable performance and tech tools development.
• Support operational issues and invoice error resolution.
• Solve complex problems and manage PO changes, evaluating causes for changes.
• Enable supplier integration and KPIs.
• Drive value and lead savings outcomes.
• Collaborate with functions and develop bids and proposals.
• Lead complex RFPs and small projects.
• Provide advice and direction in areas of expertise.
• Communicate and educate departments with supporting documentation for purchases.
• Develop and lead purchasing strategies for categories.
• Establish relationships with diverse suppliers.
• Meet regularly with customers and functions to ensure satisfaction and continuous improvement.
• Review agreements including MSAs, Amendments, and SOWs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years in procurement or deep category experience.
• Experience in IT Procurement, preferably Telecom and IT Networking.
• Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Strong influence, project management, change management, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; proficient in spreadsheet programs.
• Strong contracting skills, including reviewing and redlining contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing and negotiating with Tier-1 Telecom and Global Network Suppliers.
• Experience using SAP Ariba software.
• Good organizational skills, including program/project management governance.
• Global market knowledge and experience.
• Knowledge of procurement and category management processes.
• Extensive knowledge of category technologies and products.
• Experience leading teams, both direct and project-based.
• Financial benchmarking, spend management, savings tracking, or cost analysis experience.
