Job summary

Amazon Lab126 is seeking a Process Engineer to own the roadmap for operational excellence across the reverse logistics network. You will define strategy, set objectives, analyze data, and drive improvements with measurable impact.

Travel up to 25% internationally and domestically. You will lead cross-functional teams, develop SOPs, dashboards, and data visualizations to monitor performance and enable cost reductions while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
  • 6+ years of manufacturing and process engineering experience.
  • Experience with Lean Principles, Six Sigma, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement.

The Role

The Reverse Logistics Process Engineer is responsible for owning and driving the roadmap for operational excellence across the Amazon Devices reverse logistics network. This role spans multiple organizations and geographies in support of broader business objectives within the Amazon Devices Reverse Logistics ecosystem. You will define the overall Process engineering strategy for the org, build a roadmap to support that strategy, set objectives, analyze data, and drive improvements quantified with metrics.


Travel Required up to 25% (Domestic and International)


In This Role, You Will


  • Engineer and optimize reverse logistics processes to reduce cost and improve quality

  • Lead stakeholder reviews to identify process improvement opportunities in cycle time, manufacturing efficiency, capacity planning, UPH standardization, and productivity

  • Lead technical site and line setup (line layout simulation, capacity modeling, equipment specs, system integration) and participate in run-offs to ensure designs are followed and discrepancies resolved

  • Define process engineering metrics and leverage Lean Six Sigma principles to eliminate excess process

  • Develop best practices, SOPs, reports, dashboards, and data visualizations of process engineering metrics

  • Identify and deploy best known standards locally and globally

  • Use statistical analysis and data modeling to optimize performance metrics

  • Bridge operations, engineering, and business teams to drive mindful discussions to translate operational needs into technical requirements

  • Design and coordinate cross-functional engineering projects develop business processes, define technical requirements, and ensure deliverables are completed within required time frames

  • Own the technical roadmap for operations process engineering; contribute to operational planning cycle narratives and define organizational goals for process engineering with clear, measurable success criteria


A day in the life

As a Process Engineer, you will drive operational excellence through a dynamic mix of strategic thinking and hands-on problem-solving. Your days will be diverse, involving performance analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership of improvement initiatives. You'll bridge Operations and Support teams, conducting deep-dives into metrics, developing data-driven solutions, identifying cost reduction opportunities and standardizing workflows. The role demands a balance between tactical operations and strategic projects, requiring strong relationship-building skills across the organization.

Amazon Devices Reverse Logistics owns global warranty and services for all Amazon Device products. The team's vision is to power the circular economy by giving consumer electronic products another chance to be loved.


Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field

  • 6+ years of manufacturing, process, industrial engineering experience

  • Experience with process design based on Lean Principles, Six Sigma, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders

  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
