Job summary

Searchmasters Inc. is seeking an experienced injection molding process engineer in Akron, OH to lead process development, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will serve as the technical leader for molding processes, driving innovation, validating and troubleshooting programs using engineered and commodity resins, and supporting DFM reviews to ensure product feasibility. Collaboration with the Engineering Manager will be essential to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Lead injection molding process development, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as technical leader for injection molding processes, driving innovation and best practices.
• Develop, optimize, validate, and troubleshoot molding processes using engineered and commodity resins.
• Act as the primary manufacturing resource during DFM reviews to ensure product feasibility.
• Deliver training on advanced processing techniques, setup procedures, troubleshooting, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Collaborate with Engineering Manager to support production goals.

Job Description

• Lead process development, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives for injection molding operations
• Serve as the technical leader for injection molding processes, driving innovation and best practices
• Develop, optimize, validate, and troubleshoot injection molding processes utilizing engineered and commodity resins
• Act as the primary manufacturing resource during Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to ensure product feasibility
• Deliver training on advanced processing techniques, setup procedures, troubleshooting, and structured problem-solving methodologies
• Support production goals through close collaboration and coordination with the Engineering Manager

Key Requirements

• Strong knowledge of engineering resins, injection molding equipment, tooling, scientific molding, and plastic structural foam processes
• Lean, Six Sigma, or quality certifications preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Plastics, Polymer, Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline is preferred
