Job Summary
The Senior Process Engineer I is responsible for performing mastery level design and analysis work as directed to support various field and fabrication offices. The Senior Process Engineer I will be part of a project team from inception through construction completion.
Essential Functions

- Uses advanced techniques to modify or extend theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments.
- Works on major projects or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
- Reviews project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
- Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products.
- Assists upper management or staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
- Leads Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) sessions and participates in HAZOP studies.
- Executes process engineering deliverables according to set design criteria using approved procedures and standards.
- Prepares, coordinates, and reviews designs, studies, reports, and proposals.
- Coordinates detailed design development with other engineering disciplines, managing workload and deadlines.
- Coordinates work with necessary staff to complete assignments.
- Reviews and approves scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Prepares proposals for professional services or funding.
- Receives supervision on objectives, critical issues, and policy matters.
- Represents the organization in communications and conferences related to engineering assignments.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
Qualifications
- BSc in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering; PE preferred.
- 6+ years of related engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of systems and chemical engineering practices.
- Experience in designing process piping, tanking, blending, and chemical processes.
- Experience in developing process parameters like mass flow, heat transfer, material balance.
- Experience with analysis tools such as HYSYS, ProMax, or similar software.
- Experience in developing system designs including PFD, PID, layouts, and specifications.
- Experience in developing process data and sizing information for equipment and instrumentation.
- Experience in utility calculations and system utilities management.
- Experience interfacing with mechanical, structural, and electrical engineers.
- Experience with key design basis documents and industry standards (ANSI, NFPA).
- Experience in developing construction cost estimates and material selections.
- Experience with 3D plant models, pipe routing, and manual valve selections.
- Experience with relief valve sizing, flare system analysis, and final reporting.
- Extensive experience in full lifecycle client plant projects, including FERC filings and process interfacing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Occasional overtime and travel may be required.
