Job summary
RTX's Collins Aerospace in Fairfield, CA seeks a Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer to lead manufacturing engineering for energetic materials and related processes at the site, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and production readiness.
You will own capital projects, drive NPI with DFM, develop processes, and mentor engineers while collaborating across design, program management, safety, and quality to deliver high-quality products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years' experience, or advanced degree with 7+ years.
- Experience in NPI, including DFM, process development, and lifecycle transitions.
- Experience managing capital projects, factory layout, and qualification.
- Experience in aerospace/defense/medical devices/semiconductor sectors.
Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing engineering for energetic materials and related processes with safety and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as technical lead for large-scale capital projects from scope to qualification.
- Support NPI activities including DFM, prototype builds, and production transitions.
- Develop new processes ensuring repeatability, capability, and quality alignment.
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, tooling, workflow, and facilities.
- Lead audits, technical reviews, and cross-functional program meetings.
