Job summary

Collins Aerospace is hiring a Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer for its Fairfield, CA site to lead energetic materials manufacturing engineering for PAD, CAD and Linear product lines. You will ensure safety, regulatory and facility compliance while advancing high-quality production.

You will drive NPI process development, capital project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to solve complex manufacturing challenges and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
• 10+ years of experience preferred (or 7+ with advanced degree)
• Experience with NPI and design-for-manufacturability
• Experience managing or supporting capital projects
• Experience in aerospace/defense/regulated sectors

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing engineering efforts for energetic materials, components and related processes
• Serve as technical lead for large-scale capital projects from scoping to qualification
• Provide M.E. support for NPI activities including process development and prototype builds
• Develop and validate new manufacturing processes for repeatability and quality
• Lead or contribute to bids, cost estimation, risk ID, and production scheduling
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical decisions
• Develop PFMEAs, control plans, and process qualifications
• Mentor junior engineers on energetics manufacturing practices
• Drive continuous improvement across processes, tooling and facilities
• Lead failure investigations and corrective actions
• Represent Manufacturing Engineering in audits and technical reviews
