Job description

Sr. Principal Engineer, Electronics (TPM, MSE) – Manufacturing Test Engineering (RF Systems)

Location: Rolling Meadows, IL. Relocation assistance: None. Clearance required: Secret. Travel: Yes, approximately 10% of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Shape requirements for Acceptance Testing and Environmental Screening during the prime hardware design phase to position the organization for success.
  • Lead and drive the on‑schedule, on‑budget completion of test capability stand‑up, modification, or sustainment, including test equipment and test fixture design, software coding, and integration.
  • Track progress through Earned Value analysis, reporting to multiple levels of leadership and conducting executive level presentations.
  • Perform event leadership for key manufacturing readiness reviews and other customer or internal milestones.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership to ensure NRE activities progress with positive SPI & CPI metrics.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Aerospace, or related STEM field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience leading medium‑scale technical projects in electronics and/or aerospace with minimal assistance.
  • Experience in designing test equipment, test fixtures, or prime hardware for sale‑off.
  • Programming skills in C#, C++, Java, C, or related languages.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Electronic Warfare Systems or subsystems, especially RF products.
  • Past roles as IPT, Manufacturing Systems Engineer, Technical Project Manager, or other discipline‑level technical leadership.
  • Experience leading internal or customer milestone events (e.g., PDR/CDR, MRR/TRR, NAR).
  • CAM certification.
  • Active DoD security clearance.
