Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Principal Electronics Engineer - Manufacturing Test Engineering (RF Systems) based in Rolling Meadows, IL. The role focuses on test station hardware efforts for testing RF production hardware in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include leading test development from requirements capture through final validation and release, collaborating with Design Engineering, Test Hardware Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing Technicians

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master of Science with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware and test issues; experience with schematic generation (Cadence).
  • Experience with hardware design/development and integration and validation activities on schedule and on budget.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Test Hardware Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing Technicians to support test station hardware and acceptance testing of Shop Replaceable Units and Line Replaceable Unit level payload environmental screening.
  • Coordinate with Production, Design Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Quality organizations to test and provide solutions for nonconformance systems and contractual acceptance testing.
  • Design, debug, and validate test stations; develop and maintain testing procedures (Manufacturing Acceptance testing procedures and Environmental Screening procedures).
  • Develop test fixtures and test station concepts (schematics, block diagrams, simulations, test requirement creation) and ensure interfaces with multiple leadership levels, clients, and vendors.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure testability and support continuous improvement in cost, cycle time, and defect reduction.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master of Science with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware and test issues; experience with schematic generation (e.g., Cadence).
  • Experience with hardware design/development and integration and validation activities on schedule and on budget.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Python and MATLAB experience; experience with programming languages such as C#, C, Java or LabWindows/CVI.
  • Experience with schematic generation (Cadence) and hardware troubleshooting of test equipment or prime hardware.
  • Experience with RF electronic systems in manufacturing or design (hardware, firmware, etc.).
  • Experience with test instruments (oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, etc.) and reading schematics/one-lines.
  • Experience with GitHub and active DoD security clearance.

Compensation

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00. The range is a general guideline; base offers consider scope, responsibilities, experience, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply depending on the position. Long-term incentives may be available for certain roles.
