Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electronics Engineer - Manufacturing Test Engineering (RF Systems) in Rolling Meadows, IL. You will support RF production test infrastructure, collaborate with design and manufacturing teams, and drive testability in designs and test stations.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or related STEM with 2+ years, or M.S. with 0+ years.
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting and test issues; schematic generation experience (Cadence).
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

  • Support test station hardware efforts for RF production testing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Coordinate with Design Eng, Production Techs, PM, Manufacturing Eng, IE, and QA to test and address nonconformance systems during acceptance testing.
  • Design, debug, and integrate/validate test stations; meet new or modified testing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Manufacturing Acceptance and Environmental Screening procedures and hardware drawings for test equipment.

Overview

We are looking for you to join our team as an Electronics Engineer - Manufacturing Test Engineering (RF Systems) based out of Rolling Meadows, IL. Manufacturing Engineers thrive in an environment of daily unique challenges and close proximity to products. This role partners with production; successful test engineers lead troubleshooting and ensure excellence. The ideal candidate enjoys collaboration across functions and is an innovative problem solver with a sense of urgency and energy.

Responsibilities
  • Support test station hardware efforts associated with testing RF production hardware in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment.
  • Coordinate with Design Engineering, Production Technicians, Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Quality to test and provide solutions for nonconformance systems during contractual acceptance testing and environmental screening.
  • Design, debug, and integrate/validate test stations; investigate and meet new or modified testing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Manufacturing Acceptance testing procedures, Environmental Screening procedures, and hardware drawings of test equipment and fixtures.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, cycle time, and defects by reviewing quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to achieve testability in new and updated product designs; perform testability reviews.
  • Develop and maintain test fixtures and stations for functional and environmental testing, including schematics, block diagrams, simulations, and test requirement creation.
  • Interface with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors; build strong professional relationships with Manufacturing disciplines.
  • Ensure alignment with Shop Replaceable Units and payload (Line Replaceable Unit) level acceptance testing and environmental screening.
  • Work on systems related to aerial, military-grade, or space-grade Electronic Warfare Systems and Subsystems.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or related STEM field with at least 2 years of relevant experience, OR a Master of Science degree with 0+ years of experience.
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting and test issues; schematic generation experience (Cadence).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Python and MATLAB experience; programming experience in C#, C, Java, or Lab Windows CVI.
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting of test equipment or prime hardware; RF electronic systems in manufacturing or design (hardware or firmware).
  • Experience using test instruments (oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, etc.).
  • Experience reading schematics and electrical one-lines; experience with GitHub.
  • Active DoD security clearance (preferred).

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00. The salary range is a guideline and factors include responsibilities, experience, education, and market conditions. A variety of benefits including health and life insurance, savings plans, and paid holidays/PTO are offered.
