Role Overview

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Principal Cyber Software Engineer to join the Mobile Development team supporting a program in the Signals Intelligence Mission Solutions (SMS) Department. The role focuses on designing, developing, and delivering high‑quality Android mobile software, defending architecture in rigorous reviews, and communicating ideas to customer leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver Android mobile applications.
• Defend architecture in rigorous reviews.
• Communicate ideas and technical solutions to customer leadership.
• Shape the direction and success of the mission by influencing software decisions.

Basic Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance required (must be in place by start date).
• Bachelor's of Science with 8 years of experience; or 6 years with a Master’s; or 4 years with a PhD.
• Proficient in one or more of: C, Rust, Java, Kotlin, C++, C#, Python.
• Experience developing software on Agile teams.
• Experience developing applications for mobile platforms.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Knowledge of software development life cycle.
• Experience writing software design documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Top Secret / SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Experience leading software development teams.
• Deep knowledge of cryptography best practices.
• Deep knowledge of Android/Linux system internals.
• Experience with Android/Linux kernel or driver development.
• Experience with reverse engineering using Ghidra or IDA Pro.
• Experience designing embedded software systems.
• Experience developing Flutter applications.
• Experience managing Linux virtual machines.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure DevOps.

Salary Range

$151,100.00 - $226,700.00 (subject to experience, education, market conditions)
