Job summary

CONMED is seeking a Senior CNC Specialist to lead and mentor machining teams on multi-axis mills and lathes. You will develop set-ups, fixtures, and verification procedures, edit G-code and Mazatrol programs, and insure zero-defect parts through stringent metrology.

The role requires 10+ years of CNC experience, blueprint reading, GD&T, and hands-on tool maintenance. On-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience across multiple machines.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret geometric tolerances (GD&T).
• Proficient in editing multi-axis G-code and Mazatrol programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to less experienced employees.
• Act as a first point of contact for Machining Associate, Operators, and Level l Machinists as a Section Leader.
• Train Machining Associates/Operators in metrology.
• Sketching and fabricating fixtures.
• Develop or assist in the development of new set-ups and programs for new products or process changes including the initiation and completion of process verifications.
• Sharpen cutting tools such as broaches, drills, and end mills.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery.
• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC and/or manual equipment for fabrication and cutting of materials to process parts.
• Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at rates established for a particular operation.
• Identify and participate in resolving machining problems to produce defect-free parts.
• Perform verification/validation of new set-up programs for new product or pre-production parts.
• Perform in-process and first article inspections at the primary metrology skill level.
• Understand/edit multi-axis G-code/M-code mill programs, multi-axis G-code lathe programs and up to multi-axis Mazatrol lathe programs as required.
