NiSource Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager for New Power Generation Construction in Valparaiso, Indiana. This role is responsible for leading major capital projects, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while managing budgets and project timelines.

The Senior Project Manager- New Power Generation Construction is responsible for the safe, compliant, and successful execution of a major workstream within a single mega project or full lifecycle ownership of a portfolio of multiple, complex capital projects. This role provides senior leadership across all phases of project delivery - initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout by applying advanced project management practices to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for strategic planning, governance, risk management, budgeting, forecasting, and performance optimization, while leading cross‑functional teams and external partners. This position requires a high degree of independent judgment and serves as a primary point of accountability for project outcomes. This role relies on highly developed leadership, communication, and technical expertise, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate across engineering, project controls, supply chain, environmental, regulatory, strategy, accounting, operations, external engineering firms, contractors, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
The Senior Project Manager will operate as a proactive, solutions‑oriented leader within an organization primarily focused on execution of new generation projects, as well as other large, complex infrastructure initiatives (e.g., synchronous condensers and similar assets).
