Job description

Employment Type: Hourly
Work Designation: Onsite

Position Summary:

Installs and programs programmable logic controller-based systems, maintains electronic and instrument components of machinery and equipment, following electrical codes, ladder logic, schematics, blueprints, and specifications. Assists in project management and implementation of new control systems.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Programs, troubleshoots, and maintains PLCs using laptops and vendor-specific platforms such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rexroth, etc.
• Assists in project management and implementation of new control systems and upgrades.
• Replaces faulty switches and other electrical/mechanical components. Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective parts like gears, brushes, and armatures.
• Installs, repairs, overhauls, modifies, and maintains electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electrical, electronic, and mechanical components throughout the plant.
• Maintains plant power distribution systems, including preventive maintenance, wiring, conduit, and apparatus installation.

Education and Experience:

• Associate's degree in electronic or electrical technology or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial equipment, including PLC systems, servo motors, and drives.
• Project management experience.
• AutoCAD experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Working knowledge of Ladder Logic and ability to write ladder logic.
• Ability to program controls and use AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of electronic and electrical concepts, safety, and test equipment like volt/ohm meters, oscilloscopes, data analyzers, and circuit testers.
• Knowledge of the current national electrical code.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools used in electrical, electronic, and mechanical trades.

Work Environment:
See the full job description for environment details. Shifts are 8-12 hours; additional hours, weekends, and overtime may be required. PPE must be worn as required.
