Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with our premier client in the media industry, seeks a seasoned engineer with deep expertise in cloud-native development, DevOps, and software engineering. This fully remote, 24-month contract role will drive the design and delivery of scalable, high-performance systems and infrastructure.

You will mentor peers, craft robust architectures, and stay aligned with modern cloud practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development across multiple domains.
• Strong background in distributed systems and data management.
• Expert-level coding with focus on performance and efficiency.
• Advanced Python for backend and infra development.
• Solid DevOps experience: CI/CD, containerization (Docker), testing, automation.
• Hands-on AWS services: Networking, IAM, S3, Kinesis, Lambda, SNS.
• Familiar with IaC tools: Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, data, and product teams.
• Ability to design scalable, reliable, low-latency architectures.
• Experience in code reviews and technical mentorship.

Optomi, in partnership with our premier client in the media industry, is seeking a seasoned engineer with deep expertise in cloud-native development, DevOps, and software engineering. In this role, you’ll drive the design and delivery of scalable, high-performance systems and infrastructure. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to address complex challenges in distributed systems, data management, and large-scale performance.

As a technical leader, you’ll write efficient, well-documented code, define robust architectural solutions, and mentor peers while staying on top of modern practices in cloud and software engineering.

Must Haves

• 5+ years of software development experience across multiple domains
• Strong background in distributed systems and data management
• Expert-level coding skills with attention to performance and efficiency
• Advanced proficiency in Python for backend and infrastructure development
• Solid DevOps experience: CI/CD, containerization (Docker), testing, and automation
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services (Networking, IAM, S3, Kinesis, Lambda, SNS)
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK)
• Experience collaborating with engineering, data, and product teams
• Ability to design scalable, reliable, and low-latency architectures
