Responsibilities
What you'll be challenged to do:

Gannett Fleming TranSystems Corporation is seeking a Senior Level Planner / Project Manager to join any of the following Texas offices: Austin, Dallas, Houston, Fort Worth.

This person will support transportation planning and program management work, providing direct support to state and municipal clients on the management and delivery of transportation-related projects. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to understand the application of planning and project management principles, be detail-oriented and organized, support administrative processes, and navigate technical subject matter related to transportation planning and engineering and/or environmental programs and projects.

A candidate should have strong listening and communication skills, with the ability to write clear materials. We seek someone eager to learn, a team player, and interested in career growth. Projects may include federal grant / MPO funding applications, freight and rail planning, local government bond support, preliminary engineering, traffic analysis, and transportation planning and environmental studies.

This role is ideal for an experienced, motivated Senior Level Planner / Project Manager who thrives in a collaborative environment, with a customer-focused mindset and a passion for quality and results.

Responsibilities include:
  • Operate independently under the guidance of the Project Manager and/or Senior staff.
  • Conduct research, prepare documentation, and ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Gather and analyze data, produce graphics and maps.
  • Work with the team to develop recommendations and alternatives.
  • Attend and document meetings, often serving as the main presenter.
  • Manage project organization and documentation with technical support.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
Qualifications
What you'll bring:
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in GIS, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Suites (InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Knowledge of data analysis software.
  • Experience with transportation planning strategies and programs.
  • Experience in preliminary roadway engineering.
  • Knowledge of modal transportation (rail, port, etc.) and freight.
  • Understanding of traffic engineering and studies.
  • Knowledge of federal transportation grant requirements.
  • Strong work ethic, multi-project handling skills.
  • Ability to consider multiple perspectives, learn from peers, and foster diversity and inclusion.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in planning or related field.
  • AICP or PE certifications.
Compensation

Salary range: $85,000 - $117,000, dependent on experience and location.
