DESCRIPTION

Mailgun is seeking a data-driven Performance Marketing Manager to lead our paid advertising strategy and execution. In this role, you'll manage campaign performance across search, social, display, and video platforms, optimizing budgets and creative to maximize ROI. You'll be responsible for developing testing roadmaps, analyzing results, and scaling what works as we significantly increase our marketing investment in 2026.

This position requires balancing two distinct go-to-market motions: driving self-serve signups through product-led growth (PLG) campaigns and generating qualified pipeline for our sales team. You'll work closely with the Mailgun marketing team and regional marketing teams to ensure paid strategies support both conversion paths effectively.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, experience managing six-figure+ ad budgets, and a track record of performance improvement through systematic experimentation. You should be comfortable working across multiple regions and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:
Paid Media Strategy
  • Manage and optimize paid campaigns across various channels, including YouTube, Google Ads, Meta, Display, LinkedIn, and Connected TV (CTV).
  • Drive scalable growth through continuous testing and optimization while maintaining efficiency targets (CAC, ROAS, LTV)
  • Leverage customer segmentation and target market inputs to optimize media performance
  • Oversee paid conversion event integrity across platforms.
  • Lead campaign refreshes, ads refreshes, creative rotations, and audience tests.
  • Identify high-impact opportunities in emerging media, new technologies, and AI to future-proof our strategies, stay ahead of market trends, and accelerate growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with ABM teams to align targeting, budgets, and funnel segmentation.
  • Collaborate with the CRO team to test landing pages, messaging, and UX improvements.
  • Work closely with the Creative Strategist to brief and deliver assets for ads across Meta and Google.
  • Coordinate with content, product marketing, web, and sales teams to ensure alignment across funnels.
Reporting
  • Own all digital ad performance scorecards: upkeep, optimization, and accuracy.
  • Deliver scorecard updates Weekly (WoW), Monthly (MoM), and Quarterly (QoQ).
  • Maintain budget pacing documents and monthly investment summaries.
  • Produce ad account deep dive reports, including channel efficiency, CVR analysis, CPA/CAC trends, and funnel diagnostics.
Channel Optimization
  • Evaluate and optimize end-to-end digital ad funnels, including channel-to-lead-to-opportunity flow
  • Monitor and optimize channel performance across both product-led (PLG) and sales-led funnels
  • Analyze landing page performance, identify CRO opportunities, and coordinate execution with the CRO team.
  • Collaborate with Strategists on creative needs and performance-driving assets.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 4–7+ years in performance marketing, growth marketing, or analytics.
  • Expert knowledge of GA4, GTM, Google Ads, Meta Ads, and Search Console.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex datasets and build reporting structures.
  • Proven success managing multi-channel performance budgets and pacing.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS funnels, free trials, lifecycle conversion metrics, and LTV/CAC modeling.
  • Deep understanding of website conversion principles and experimentation frameworks.
  • Hands‑on experience with ad copy testing, landing page optimization, and creative coordination.
  • Ability to simplify complex performance insights for executive-level stakeholders.
Success in This Role Looks Like
  • Accurate, reliable tracking and insights across the entire digital ecosystem.
  • Improved CVR across paid channels, website pages, and trial funnels.
