Job summary

Sligo Software Solutions Inc. in New York State seeks an experienced Oracle/OBIEE professional to support NYWIC DataMart and reporting.

You will develop and validate Oracle SQL queries against production NYWIC schemas, create reusable query libraries, and help staff translate business needs into data solutions. Collaborate with the NYWIC Datamart team, program staff, and ITS to document data mappings, assist in ad-hoc reporting, and contribute to regression testing and UAT.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience across all software development life cycle phases.
• Proven experience with Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle databases.
• Experience with OBIEE and Oracle Reports.
• Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and execute Oracle SQL queries against the Production NYWIC database schema for validation and data analysis.
• Develop and maintain a library of SQL queries for recurring requests with different parameters.
• Assist program staff in understanding NYWIC data structures for report requirements.
• Assist in developing ad-hoc queries in the NYWIC Datamart OBIEE system as needed.
• Build a knowledgebase of system data mappings between NYWIC application and the Datamart.
• Participate in review/documentation of regression test scripts for UAT.
• Provide general support for UAT efforts.
• Collaborate with ITS and Program managers to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

Description

The NYWIC (New York Women, Infants, and Children) system is a statewide application that supports the administration of New York's WIC nutrition program, which provides nutritional assistance and health services to eligible women, infants, and children.The Division of Nutrition relies on custom applications to support the delivery of these programs. The NYWIC MIS-EBT project provides a .NET/Oracle-based platform that enables efficient program operations and ongoing enhancements to meet evolving business needs.Within this environment, the DataMart team is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of the enterprise data warehouse and reporting layer supporting the NYWIC application. The team includes Software Analysts, Data Modelers, Informatica Developers, Software Developers, and OBIEE Developers who work collaboratively to deliver and sustain data solutions.The team continuously implements enhancements and updates to the DataMart as the core application evolves, ensuring accurate, reliable, and timely reporting for business users, program administrators, and regulatory stakeholders.

Duties

• Develop, test and execute Oracle SQL queries against the schema of the Production NYWIC database upon request, for program validation and data analysis


• Develop and maintain a library of SQL queries that can be executed on a recurring basis with different parameters, for similar requests


• Assist DOH program staff in understanding NYWIC data structures within the NYWIC modules, for developing new report requirements


• Assist DOH program staff in developing new ad-hoc queries within the NYWIC Datamart OBIEE system, using defined user guidelines and additional guidance from the NYWIC Datamart team as needed


• Work with NYWIC Datamart team members, program staff, and the NYWIC application vendor as needed to develop a knowledgebase of system data mappings between the NYWIC application and the Datamart, for program assistance


• Participate in review and/or documentation of regression test scripts for user acceptance testing


• Provide general support for user acceptance testing efforts


• Work closely with ITS and Program managers to ensure adherence to standard policies and procedures

Mandatory Requirements

• Is involved with all facets of the software development process, including the research, design, programming, testing and implementation of computer software.

• 84 months of experience creating SQL queries and stored procedures using Oracle PL/SQL.


• 84 months of experience meeting with business staff to elicit business requirements.


• 84 months of experience working with business staff or end users to analyze or troubleshoot Oracle reports.


• 84 months of experience creating software documentation including functional specifications and technical specifications.


• 48 months of experience analyzing, optimizing Oracle SQL queries and improving database performance.


• 48 months of experience preparing or facilitating the creation of testing scenarios and test scripts.


• 36 months of experience creating user documentation such as user guides or training presentations.


• 36 months of experience using OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition), including end user experience.


• Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology related field, from an accredited institution.
