Job summary

Onto Innovation seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, integrate, and support advanced mechanical subsystems for semiconductor inspection and metrology gear. You will ensure precision motion, optical stability, thermal management, manufacturability, and field reliability.

The role is on-site in Wilmington, MA, with up to 25% travel. You will collaborate across Systems, Electrical, Software, Optics, and Manufacturing teams while driving reliability and cost improvements throughout

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in semiconductor equipment or related capital systems.
• Strong CAD modeling, tolerance analysis, and thermal design experience.
• Experience with supplier engagement, design transfer, and manufacturing release.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, integrate, and support mechanical systems for semiconductor inspection and metrology products.
• Perform tolerance stack-ups, structural and thermal evaluations, prototyping, and verification tests.
• Prepare drawings, specs, and change orders per company processes; support field installation and service.
