Job summary

ID Logistics is seeking a Sr Operations Manager in Joliet, IL to lead supply chain operations across multiple sites. You will direct distribution, warehousing, packaging and transportation, drive performance, safety, and P&L management while building a culture of continuous improvement and associate development.

The role requires 5+ years of management in high-volume 3PL/distribution environments, deep knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma, and the ability to manage budgets, staffing, and regulatory

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management in high-volume 3PL, distribution, warehouse and transportation.
• P&L management experience.
• High volume e-commerce experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen principles preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, databases, WMS, and other metrics tools.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet operation's needs.

• Evaluate overall operations and set short- and long-term goals.
• Oversee warehousing, distribution, packaging and transportation operations.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance value, service, and profitability.
• Direct programs to ensure safety of associates, equipment and property.
• Ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Direct budget and P&L for operations.
• Develop work plans ensuring staffing, manage labor costs, overtime and retention.
• Maximize quality and productivity by understanding job standards and analyzing variances.
• Participate in collecting performance measurements per customer/vendor/site requirements.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports.
• Deliver a high-performance experience to associates and customers.

Position Overview: The Sr Operations Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of a supply chain operation. The Sr Operations Manager provides overall direction and oversight in the areas of performance, safety, P&L management, customer relations, continuous improvement, and associate development across multiple sites.

Location: Joliet, IL

Work Schedule: M-F

Travel Specifics: 25%

Competitive Compensation: Attractive annual salary of $87,000-$122,000 plus a performance-based bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the operations of distribution, packaging, and transportation to achieve company objectives and meet customer expectations.
• Evaluate overall operations and develop short and long-term goals to meet organizational objectives.
• Oversee all warehousing, distribution, packaging and transportation operations to ensure company and customer requirements are met.
• Focus on continuous improvement and make decisions about enhancing value, service and effectiveness, and profitability.
• Direct and oversee programs to ensure safety of all associates, equipment and property.
• Ensure compliance with all company, customer, and government regulatory requirements.
• Directly manage budget and P&L for operations.
• Develop work plans ensuring appropriate staffing levels, managing labor costs, overtime and retention.
• Maximizes quality and productivity by understanding and mastering all job standards for each function, and evaluating performance variances to identify root cause, corrective action and training needs.
• Participate in the collection of performance measurements per customer, vendor and/or site requirements.
• Prepares and submits weekly and monthly reports.
• Deliver a consistent, high-performance experience to our associates and customer.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years management experience and comprehensive knowledge in a high volume fast paced 3PL, distribution, warehouse, and transportation environment.
• P&L experience.
• High volume e-commerce experience
• Strong background in both inbound and outbound
• Critical thinking, problem solving and reasoning skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and communication styles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, databases, WMS, and other metrics measurement tools.
• Strong presentation, writing and speaking proficiency.
• Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen principles preferred.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Experience with ADP platforms, including WorkForce Now, WorkForce Manager, ADPRM helpful.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the operation's needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain or Logistics or business-related field preferred.
• 3PL experience.
