Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of complex nuclear medicine procedures with a minimum accuracy of 99%, in compliance with standard procedures.
  • Update knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the patient population.
  • Communicate clearly and tactfully with patients.
  • Compute and prepare accurate dosages for exams with at least 99% accuracy.
  • Order necessary radio-isotope materials with 100% accuracy.
  • Observe all government regulations regarding the safe utilization, storage, and disposal of radio-isotopes with 100% accuracy.
  • Perform daily QC testing, identify equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot, and notify supervisor as needed.
  • Translate physician orders into appropriate nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Ensure smooth workflow in the department and advise the director on issues.
  • Maintain productivity levels within 20% of the FTE monthly average for the modality.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, resulting in positive patient satisfaction scores.
  • Observe safety and infection control procedures with at least 99% compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of radio-isotope utilization as required by regulations.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient examinations with isotope orders for optimal resource utilization.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
  • Transport patients as needed.
  • Ensure proper coding and charging of examinations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Possess the credential of Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine, ARRT(N), or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, CNMT.
Working Conditions
  • High stress environment.
  • Indoor work in a well-lit, ventilated area.
  • Minimal exposure to contagion with safety precautions.
  • Willingness to work with an understanding of the serious consequences of errors.
Physical Demands
  • Constant standing, lifting, and moving objects up to 300 lbs. with assistance.
