Job summary

Sabre Industries is seeking a Sr. NDT Technician to ensure that parts, shafts, and poles meet design standards with a background in NDT and welding. This role requires ASNT SNT TC-1A UT Level II certification, the ability to read blueprints, and reliable English communication.

Candidates should be prepared for outdoor manufacturing environments and physical demands. As part of a safety-conscious team, you will perform UT, visual, and ultrasonic inspections, document results, and participate in

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience within Sabre Industries as an NDT Tech A.
• Welding background a plus.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Certifiable to ASNT SNT TC-1A for a UT Level II AWS Weld Inspector.

Responsibilities

• Perform all inspection functions to the requirements of ASNT SNT TC-1A for a UT Level II AWS Weld Inspector.
• Perform Visual and Ultrasonic Weld Inspections to the requirements of AWS D1.1.
• Cross train in other areas of Quality Control Department and fill in when need arises.
• Ensure that all documentation is accurately and neatly completed.
• Keep pass down log accurate.
• Comply with Sabre Tubular Structures safety standards at all times.
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with personnel of Quality Department and all departments at Sabre.
• Participate in the training process of UT Level I Inspectors.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Scope Of Responsibility

Position Requirements

• Two years’ experience within Sabre Industries as an NDT Tech A. Welding background a plus.
• Regular and timely attendance is required.
• High School/GED preferred but not required.
• Have the ability to perform work functions while standing for long periods of time.
• Have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Have the ability to climb and bend over in order to inspect.
• Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to all climates.
• Be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Be able to accurately verify all parts to print using a tape measure.
• Possess effective communication skills.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Certifiable to the requirements of ASNT SNT TC-1A for a UT Level II AWS Weld Inspector.
• Must be able to meet the AWS D1.1 requirements of a visual weld inspector.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and handling of materials.
• Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekends.
• Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and a safety-minded individual.
• Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures.
• Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
