Job summary

Beacon Hill is seeking a senior mobile software engineer to build and scale mobile apps for a growing enterprise. You will provide technical leadership for a mobile platform and shape long-term architecture.

This role requires hands-on development in React Native and native iOS, deep knowledge of iOS frameworks, and proven ability to mentor engineers and drive architectural decisions across teams. You will collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, and Security to deliver scalable solutions

Qualifications

• 8+ years in mobile development.
• 5+ years of production React Native experience.
• Proficient in Swift and native iOS development.
• Strong understanding of iOS SDK, UIKit, SwiftUI, lifecycle, memory management, and concurrency.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React Native architecture.
• Experience designing scalable mobile architectures and reusable components.
• Strong mobile security, performance optimization, and reliability.
• Experience leading architecture for large-scale production mobile apps.
• App Store release management and mobile governance experience.
• Knowledge of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines.
• Experience balancing React Native and native development based on technical requirements.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a senior mobile software engineer who will contribute significantly to building mobile apps for a growing enterprise organization.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership for a mobile platform and shape the long-term architecture of mobile applications. This person will drive engineering strategy, solve complex technical challenges, influence technical direction across teams, and raise the engineering bar through mentorship and technical excellence. If you are an experienced mobile engineer who excels at development, architecture, and leadership/strategy, this is the role for you.

Experience:

Must have 8 years’ of mobile development experience

Must have 5 years’ experience with production React Native development

Must be proficient with Swift and native iOS development

Must have a strong understanding of iOS SDK, UIKit, SwiftUI, application lifecycle, memory management, and concurrency

Must have strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern React Native architecture

Must have experience designing scalable mobile architectures, reusable platform components, and styling systems using Uniwind/Tailwind

Must have strong understanding of mobile security, performance optimization, and reliability

Must have experience leading architecture for large-scale production mobile applications

Must have experience in App Store release management and mobile platform governance

Must have strong understanding of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines

Must have experience balancing React Native and native development based on technical requirements

Must have knowledge of mobile security best practices, encryption, deep linking, push notifications, and background processing

Must have experience with Git version control and collaborative workflows

Must have experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL integration

Must have experience with testing frameworks and mobile automation strategies

Must have CI/CD tools (Expo, GitLab)

Must have experience with performance monitoring and observability tools

Experience with Android development (Kotlin/Java) is desired

Experience contributing to open-source mobile projects is desired

Experience with Firebase, Sentry, or similar monitoring platforms is desired

Experience or understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, VoiceOver) is desired

Familiarity with mobile analytics and A/B testing platforms is desired

Must be able to define and evolve the long-term architecture for React Native and native iOS applications

Must be able to lead architecture reviews and establish engineering standards and best practices across the mobile platform

Must be able to drive critical technical decisions around scalability, performance, security, and developer productivity

Must be able to design reusable platform components and native modules that improve engineering velocity

Must be able to partner with engineering leadership to shape the mobile technology roadmap

Must be able to lead the implementation of complex, business-critical mobile initiatives

Must be able to improve application performance, reliability, memory usage, and battery efficiency

Must be able to drive the testing strategy, release quality, and CI/CD improvements across the mobile platform

Must be able to own observability, monitoring, and operational excellence for mobile applications

Must be able to mentor senior and junior engineers while growing technical capability across the organization

Must be able to partner with Product, Design, Backend, Platform, and Security teams to deliver scalable solutions

Must be able to lead technical planning for cross-team initiatives and build alignment on architectural decisions
