Job Summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Sr Reefer Trailer Technician for a dedicated on-site role. This position involves performing certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and assisting with advanced repairs under supervision. Work is performed at customer sites, focusing on safety, efficiency, and high-quality service.

Duties

1. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration equipment, trucks, and trailers.
2. Diagnose and repair components such as compressors, coils, electrical parts, and more.
3. Ensure safety practices and manage parts inventory.
4. Maintain and operate company vehicles, conduct safety and pre/post-trip inspections.
5. Document work performed accurately using company tools and software.
6. Complete DOT forms and other documentation timely.
7. Work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with clients and team.
8. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailer systems.
9. Adhere to safety, health, environmental policies, and company procedures.
10. Establish and maintain good customer and vendor relationships.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years' related experience or equivalent combination.
• At least 3 years' experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Certification to use refrigerants R134, R404, R410, etc.
• Own set of hand tools and relevant OEM training preferred.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and background checks.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and at least 21 years old.
• Certifications like ASE T8 (PMI), ASE 608/609 are required within 18 months; others are preferred.
• Skills in trailer parts, systems, problem-solving, and physical ability to perform labor.

Hourly pay ranges from $28.65 to $42.98, with potential bonuses and incentives. Benefits include health insurance from day one, 401(k) matching, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and various employee discounts.
