Pay Range

$30.00/hr - $70.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment such as condenser units, pumps, air handlers, heat exchangers, and other mechanical devices.
  • Install and maintain temperature control systems, electric valves, heat transfer, ventilation, and air distribution equipment.
  • Install and replace pumps or refrigeration equipment following prints, specifications, and diagrams.
  • Read gauges and instruments, and adjust valves, controls, and pumps to regulate fluid pressure and distribution.
  • Operate refrigeration recovery equipment in compliance with EPA guidelines.
  • Solder with sil-fos and silver solder, layout, and fit piping.
  • Test malfunctioning systems using electrical, mechanical, digital, and pneumatic controls.
  • Maintain air makeup systems, chillers, evaporators, and drain lines.
  • Order parts and maintain refrigeration stock.
  • Perform planned maintenance, servicing, and repairs on refrigeration equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities related to facility power systems.
  • Assist with maintenance, installation, operation, and repair of boiler and pressure systems.
  • Enforce safety rules and procedures.
  • Keep records of repairs and maintenance.
  • Coordinate work with maintenance planners.
  • Submit daily activity sheets and invoices.
  • Maintain regular attendance and reliable transportation.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a two-year technical college program in industrial refrigeration maintenance or equivalent certification (e.g., CIRO) with experience.
  • Knowledge of freon, boilers, compressors, motors, pumps, sheet metal, grease, oil, and belt applications.
  • Self-motivated with good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Basic understanding of plant electrical systems related to refrigeration.
  • Ability to perform precision welding and cutting, including MIG and heli-arc on stainless steel.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and using CMMS programs like MP2.
Skills and Abilities
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 100 pounds, and work in extreme temperatures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under stress.
  • Proficient with computers and related software.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals and participate in training.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, handle, and feel; reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. Must lift/move up to 100 pounds. Exposed to humid conditions, moving parts, high places, extreme temperatures, and electrical hazards. PPE required. Noise levels vary.
