Job summary

New Balance, headquartered in Boston, seeks a Senior Merchandise Planner to develop and manage pre-season and in-season merchandise plans for Apparel and Accessories. This role analyzes data, generates insights, and collaborates across Merchandising, eCommerce, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to forecast demand and optimize inventory for sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• 2-3 years in Merchandise Planning, Inventory Planning, Allocation, Forecasting, or similar retail planning role.
• Experience in Apparel, Accessories, Footwear, or related categories preferred.
• Experience in ecommerce or omnichannel environments.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
• Experience with planning systems and analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze sales, margin, inventory, and customer performance against budget and forecasts.
• Deliver business recaps, reporting, and actionable insights for cross-functional partners.
• Develop data-driven pre-season plans and in-season forecasts for sales, margin, and inventory.
• Maintain OTB plans and merchandise forecasts within planning systems.
• Manage style-level plans and optimize assortment productivity.
• Balance inventory investments to meet sales and margin goals.
• Collaborate with regional teams to align inventory strategies and promotions.
• Leverage site performance and analytics to improve forecast accuracy.
• Drive consistent reporting and planning processes.
