Base pay range

$30.00/hr - $42.00/hr

Reports into: Medical Director or Sr. Medical Director - TBD

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Writer to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for the development of accurate, compelling, and scientifically rigorous content across a variety of formats and therapeutic areas. The role demands strong ownership, independence, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development & Execution

• Conduct thorough research using reputable scientific and medical sources
• Create scientifically accurate, engaging, and strategically aligned content with minimal supervision
• Ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with style guides and AMA guidelines
• Annotate references accurately and manage version control of all content
• Own the quality and accuracy of all deliverables

Strategic Planning & Project Execution

• Demonstrate in-depth understanding of product, therapeutic landscape, and competitive environment
• Offer strategic recommendations for content and project development
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet timelines and adhere to agency workflow processes

Client Engagement

• Participate in and contribute to client meetings with confidence
• Communicate scientific content clearly and effectively in a team setting
• Build strong client relationships through subject matter expertise and professionalism
• Occasionally act as the client-facing medical lead (with managerial support)
• Travel locally (tri-state area) as needed for client meetings

Internal Collaboration & Agency Contribution

• Help establish best practices within the medical writing team
• Support a collaborative, high-performance team environment
• Contribute to the professional growth and development of peers through mentorship and knowledge sharing

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of medical writing or relevant industry experience (medical communications, pharma, research, consulting, etc.)
• Strong scientific background and ability to synthesize complex information
• Excellent communication, writing, and collaboration skills
• Comfort working across both analytical and creative project types
