Job summary

Hallmark is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of electro-mechanical automation for production and fulfillment equipment at our Liberty, MO site. You will contribute to start-up, troubleshooting, documentation, and training as part of a cross-functional team.

The role requires strong hands-on engineering experience, a passion for innovation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment on-site at the Liberty Distribution Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience designing complex electro-mechanical automation equipment is preferred.
• Experience with robotics and motion control systems is desirable.
• Solid knowledge of CAD, preferably Solid Edge, for modeling and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization of solutions and define performance criteria.
• Create machine part and assembly drawings for fabrication, installation, and maintenance.
• Lead prototyping, troubleshooting, assembly, and evaluation.
• Manage capital spending, design systems, and coordinate with end-users, suppliers and consultants.

WHAT YOU'LL DO & HOW IT SHAPES OUR SUCCESS

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a team of mechanical and electrical engineers responsible for the design and development of original production and fulfillment equipment (electro-mechanical automation). Your roles in implementation, start-up, troubleshooting, modification, documentation, and training will be essential to our success.

The work is challenging and involves both self-guided and self-initiated tasks as well as collaboration with the rest of the team and the departments that will receive the completed machines.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Participating in and often driving the conceptualization of solutions, collaboration with peers, specification of performance, and integration within the operating environment.
• Creating machine part and assembly drawings as required for fabrication, installation, and maintenance of equipment.
• Leading prototyping, trouble-shooting, assembly, and executional evaluation.
• Accountability for managing capital spending, designing systems, networking with end-users, partnering with external suppliers and consultants, sourcing parts and other components, adhering to aggressive schedules, and working closely with our technician team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following are required to be considered for this role:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in an engineering role to demonstrate mastery of the responsibilities outlined

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your resume will stand out if you have the following:

• Experience designing complex electro-mechanical automation equipment
• Experience with robotics and motion control systems utilizing servo motor or pneumatic power
• Proficiency in use of CAD systems such as Solid Edge for modeling and drawing creation
• Working knowledge of OSHA and ANSI standards related to machine guarding and safety requirements
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Success at balancing individual work with team-oriented projects
• Characteristically self-motivated and enthusiastic about moving work forward
